North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and US President Donald Trump have shaken hands at the venue for their historic summit on Singapore's Sentosa Island.
The two men shook hand before they meet alone with a pair of interpreters for roughly 45 minutes while their entourages wait nearby.
It is the first-ever meeting of sitting US and North Korean leaders
After the meeting, they are scheduled to hold a larger meeting and working lunch.
Mr Trump's chief of staff, national security adviser and secretary of state are among those expected to join.
