Flammable cladding may have been used on as many as 12,000 Queensland buildings.

Flammable cladding blamed for London's Grenfell Tower fire has been used on as many as 12,000 buildings in Queensland, a taskforce has found.

The taskforce was set up by the state government in the wake of the 2017 disaster, which killed 71 people including two Australians, to assess how many buildings carry the aluminium composite panels.

"There may be as many as 12,000 buildings across the state built since the introduction of ACP into Queensland that will need assessment by the building owner, private certifier or other building professional," the taskforce report says, according to The Courier Mail.

The review is expected to be released by the state government on Thursday.
