Bill Shorten could switch seats at the next federal election after the electoral commission proposed to cut his seat in half.
The federal Labor leader said he is interested in making sure his party gets more votes "everywhere" after reports he was considering moving out of Maribyrnong to a safer seat to ensure he could campaign in marginal seats.
"The electoral commission cut my seat in half. I like the voters on both sides of my seat. We'll wait and see what the final maps look like," Mr Shorten told 6PR radio in Perth on Wednesday.
