PM callous over minimum wage rise: Labor

Labor has blasted the Turnbull government for failing to push for an increase to the minimum wage.

Labor has blasted the Turnbull government's "callous disregard" for workers after it failed to push for an increase to the minimum wage.

The opposition's employment spokesman Brendan O'Connor said Labor would not put a dollar figure on how much they wanted the Fair Work Commission to boost wages after making a submission calling for a pay rise for low-paid workers.

"There has been no call by the government to increase wages in their submission and I think that is a dreadful shame," Mr O'Connor told reporters in Sydney on Wednesday.
