Commercial lending stabilises in January

Owner-occupiers home loans were up 0.5 per cent in January, while commercial loans were steady.

Commercial loans including mortgages to investors remained steady at $43 billion in January.

Home loans to owner occupiers rose 0.5 per cent to $21.2 billion, Australian Bureau of Statistics seasonally adjusted figures for January show.

Personal finance loans rose 4.5 per cent to $6.4 billion in January, while lease finance fell 6.1 per cent to $553 million.
