NKorea talk must turn to action: PM

March 10, 2018

Kevin Rudd says despite his doubts, talks between the US and North Korea could rewrite history.

There's a lot to be sceptical about in the possibility of a summit between North Korea and the United States, Kevin Rudd says.

But the former prime minister says there is an opportunity to rewrite history if proper preparation is done in the lead up to the meeting between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, expected to take place by May.

"A lot of work has to be done in the next one to two months if the summit's to proceed, about precise definitions of denuclearisation dates, what does it mean for missiles, for nuclear bombs, for the future testing program for both," he told ABC on Saturday.
