A large court precinct in Sydney's west has been closed down after a suspicious item was discovered, with a police operation underway.
"The Parramatta Justice Precinct is currently closed due to a police operation. Further information will be provided if the operation has any impact on court sittings today," Justice NSW tweeted at 8.30am on Tuesday.
Police were called to the corner of George and Marsden streets in Parramatta at 6.40am on Tuesday.
The police operation is still ongoing, a NSW Police spokeswoman told AAP.
