Finance Minister Mathias Cormann has vowed to fight for company tax cuts at the next election if they are torpedoed in the Senate.

"We are completely and utterly committed to our business tax cuts," Senator Cormann told Sky News on Friday, when asked about legislation facing a bleak fate in the upper house.

"They were very necessary at the last election - they'll be even more important by the time of the next election."
