Victoria calls for federal crime database

January 14, 2018

Premier Daniel Andrews says Victoria would be willing to help fund a national crime database.

Anti-social behaviour and youth offending will be the target of African-Australian community leaders and police who will patrol a shopping centre in Melbourne's west.

South Sudanese leaders will join officers on patrol at Tarneit Shopping Centre on Sunday afternoon to help address recent criminal activity, Wyndham Inspector Peter Bitton said.

"The joint-patrol is just one of the ways that police are working with the community hand-in-hand to address the criminal behaviour that we've seen recently," Inspector Bitton said.
