At least 30 people have been killed in Peru after a bus plunged into a ravine.

At least 25 people have been killed in Peru when a bus collided with a trailer and plunged into a ravine, local media reported.

The accident occurred on the Panamericana Norte highway on a dangerous bend, known as "the curve of the devil," in the Lima region.

The bus was transporting 55 passengers, the governmental news agency Andina reported. Five injured victims were taken to hospital, according to the website RPP Noticias.
