Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk waves as she arrives at Government House in Brisbane.

Annastacia Palaszczuk has finally claimed victory for Labor in Queensland, with the new government to be sworn in on Tuesday.

The premier said she wished outgoing LNP leader Tim Nicholls well when he called to concede defeat on Friday and had gone to the governor to advise she could form a majority government.

"The electoral commission has now declared a majority of seats has been won by the Australian Labor Party," she said, promising to govern for all Queenslanders.
