NSW Greens MPs arrested at Adani protest

Two NSW Greens MPs including Jeremy Buckingham have been arrested at a Adani mine protest in Qld.

NSW Greens MPs Jeremy Buckingham and Dawn Walker have been arrested at a blockade in Queensland protesting the Adani Carmichael coal mine.

The pair was among 17 people arrested on Wednesday morning for trespassing at the proposed site of the controversial mine, 270 kilometres west of Bowen, while one woman locked herself onto a gate at the railway construction site, according to Queensland Police.

Mr Buckingham and Ms Walker were issued with a police infringement notice for trespassing unlawfully at a place of business and fined $252 each.
