Mehajer ordered to pay for 'marble palace'

October 11, 2017

Salim Mehajer will have to fork out more than $650,000 for unpaid work on his "marble palace".

Controversial property developer Salim Mehajer has been ordered to pay almost $670,000 for unpaid work on his western Sydney "marble palace".

Prime Marble and Granite successfully took Mehajer to court after he failed to pay for a massive installation of marble, "the exquisiteness of which is not in dispute", at his Lidcombe home in 2014 and 2015.

Mehajer failed to appear at a District Court civil hearing in Sydney on Wednesday where his lawyer successfully asked to withdraw from the matter after having difficulty getting instructions and costs from him.
