October 09, 2017

Disgraced former Sydney oncologist John Kearsley has been sentenced to community service.

A Sydney oncologist has avoided jail time for indecently assaulting the adult daughter of a cancer patient during an impromptu breast examination.

John Kearsley, a former senior oncologist at Sydney's St George hospital, on Monday was sentenced in Sutherland Local Court to 340 hours of community service over the 2012 indecent assault in which he squeezed the nipples of the patient's daughter.

Kearsley has previously served a prison term for spiking a young doctor's drink before sexually assaulting her at his home.
