Court hears of Qld murder accused's cries

Aaron Joseph Stewart may have tried to defend himself as he was stabbed by his former partner.

A man repeatedly stabbed his former de facto partner in the chest with a knife during an argument, a trial has heard.

Thomas Lysgaard has pleaded not guilty to murdering Aaron Joseph Stewart at a Spring Hill house on April 4, 2015.

The Brisbane Supreme Court heard on Monday Mr Stewart was stabbed a number of times in the chest and suffered wounds to his arms that indicated he had tried to defend himself.
