Justice Minister Michael Keenan will unveil new laws to punish pedophiles.

Pedophiles face longer jail terms, mandatory minimum sentences and stricter supervision after release under a proposed federal government crackdown.

Justice Minister Michael Keenan will unveil the new laws in Canberra on Tuesday, which will also include tougher fines for internet companies that don't report abuse material.

"Harming kids is the worst form of crime but this is not being reflected in the punishments these criminals have been given for their horrible actions," Mr Keenan told News Corp Australia.
