Jean Claude Perrottet has been found not guilty of raping a Sydney University student.

A jury has begun its deliberations in the trial of a young man accused of raping a university student at a Sydney college formal.

Jean Claude Perrottet, the brother of NSW Treasurer Dominic Perrottet, has pleaded not guilty to three counts of sexual intercourse without consent at St John's College in October 2015.

The NSW District Court jury on Thursday retired to consider its verdict more than two weeks after the trial began.
