Pensioner wants to see $3.3m Lotto ticket

July 13, 2017

A man who says he bought a winning Lotto ticket wants NSW Lotteries to show him the winning ticket.

A Sydney disability pensioner who is suing NSW Lotteries over a 1997 unclaimed $3.3 million prize has called on the organisation to show him a copy of the winning ticket.

David Owen Renshaw has told the NSW Supreme Court that a shop attendant threw away his winning Lotto ticket after Mr Renshaw saw the words "provisional winner" when he handed it in.

At a directions hearing on Wednesday, a lawyer for NSW Lotteries said Mr Renshaw had served a notice to produce a copy of the winning ticket but "understandably that is not something the defendants are prepared to do".
