SA man sentenced over attack on cat

July 12, 2017

A prosecutor says the owner of a cat who was shot in Adelaide is happy with the penalty handed down.

A South Australian man who shot a neighbour's cat four times with a bow and arrow has been given a six-month suspended jail sentence.

Shannon Aubert appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday where he was also ordered to pay more than $800 in vet bills for the treatment given to George the cat after the incident in July last year.

George survived the initial attack but was later euthanised because of his horrific injuries.
