First coronial hearing on Bourke St attack

An inquest will be held into the deaths of six people who were run down in Melbourne's Bourke St.

The first directions hearing for the coroner's inquest into Melbourne's Bourke Street attack will be held next week.

State Coroner Sara Hinchey will hold the hearing on July 20 at the Coroners' Court of Victoria and take submissions on the next steps in the investigation.

Six people died and dozens were injured when a car ploughed through the Bourke Street mall in the Melbourne CBD on January 20.
