Ex-cop gets life for trying to kill family

A former Queensland police officer has admitted attempting to murder his wife and two children.

A former police officer has pleaded guilty to attempting to murder his wife and two children at their Brisbane home three years ago.

The 44-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, repeatedly stabbed his then 39-year-old wife and children, aged nine and seven, at their Carina home in February 2014.

He appeared before Justice Peter Flanagan in the Brisbane Supreme Court on Tuesday and has pleaded guilty to three charges of attempted murder.
