Queensland carbon neutral by 2050: Labor

July 11, 2017

Queensland opposition leader Tim Nicholls says Labor's climate plan abandons resource workers.

Queensland's Labor government has announced a plan to make the state carbon neutral within about 30 years, saying the Turnbull government's inaction on climate change has forced it to act.

The state government has vowed to drive carbon pollution down to zero by 2050.

Part of the plan will involve more incentives for clean industries to set up shop in Queensland, under a target to source 50 per cent of the state's energy from renewable sources by 2030.
