A Californian cocaine, heroin and steroids kingpin has agreed to a 20-year jail sentence in the US.

A Californian cocaine, heroin and steroids kingpin who boasted about trafficking large quantities of drugs at extraordinary prices to Australia has agreed to a 20-year jail sentence in the US.

Owen Hanson, 34, a former college football player, entered guilty pleas in the US District Court in San Diego on Tuesday to charges of racketeering conspiracy and conspiracy to distribute narcotics.

Hanson was arrested near San Diego in 2015 after a covert Australian and US operation and, according to the plea deal, he admitted to running a drug trafficking, money laundering and illegal gambling operation dubbed ODOG that included selling drugs in Australia and to professional athletes in the US.
